OEM FAQs
What is rotational molding?
Rotational Molding is a process that uses controlled heat and biaxial rotation to form plastic parts within a hollow aluminum or steel mold cavity. The resulting parts have very durable characteristics and consistent strength throughout. Roto molding creates very low internal stresses in the finished part, which contributes to this durability. The standard material used in this process is polyethylene plastic.
What is thermoforming?
Thermoforming is the process of permanently shaping plastic material using pressure and controlled heating and cooling. Many types of plastics may be used for the various thermoforming processes.
What is vacuum forming?
Vacuum Forming is variation of the thermoforming process. In this process, a heated sheet of continuous plastic extrusion is formed via suction over a temperature controlled, single surface mold and held there until a permanent shape is imparted in the material. The molds for vacuum forming are typically made from aluminum and offer the ability to produce large and deep parts.
